Ah, the Mamiya 645 Pro. This camera has felt more like an albatross than a friend mostly. It’s cumbersome (it’s a medium format camera for those who are unfamiliar, which is a larger type of film (better resolution), meaning a larger camera body). It doesn’t read as a camera to normal folk at all, sometimes I’m concerned people think I’m brandishing a bizarre weapon when I have it out. It’s hugeness makes it a burden to carry, even compared to my Canon T90, and the cubicness of it means it never rests particularly comfortably against your body. And finally, for whatever reason, the viewfinder fogs extraordinarily easily, which makes focussing a bear. BUT BUT BUT, I know that when I reach a more advanced level of composition, it’s going to produce some stunning images. These images are not stunning, but they are a step on the journey, and some of them are half interesting, so fuck it, here’s some new photos.
